Author's Guidelines
1. MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
All manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the JPES Online Submission System.
Please ensure the following files are uploaded:
- Required Uploads
- Cover Letter (declaring originality and author approval)
- Title Page (title, full author names, affiliations, and corresponding author’s contact)
- Main Manuscript (anonymized – no author identifiers)
- Ethical Approval Letter (for studies involving humans/animals)
- Conflict of Interest & Funding Disclosure
- Author Contribution Statement
- Standard abbreviations should be used consistently throughout the article.
- Complete all the required forms
- Designated authors should meet all four criteria for authorship in the ICMJE Recommendations
- Covering letter: You should upload your cover letter. Use the cover letter to explain why your paper should be published in The Journal of Pakistan Endocrine Society Journal rather than elsewhere.

2. MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- Page Numbering: Consecutively from title page
- References: Vancouver style
- Abbreviations: Define at first mention
- Tables & Figures: Cited in text, placed on separate pages at the end

5. TABLES, FIGURES and ILLUSTRATION
- Each table/figure must have a short, descriptive title and legend.
- Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) in JPEG or PNG format.
- Identify file names clearly (e.g., Figure 1_RetinopathyData).
- Do not embed figures within the text. Place them at the end of the manuscript.
6. ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Studies involving humans/animals must include Ethics Committee or IRB approval.
- Obtain informed consent for all human participants.
- Disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
- JPES screens all submissions via Turnitin; similarity index must be ≤ 20%.
- Plagiarism, duplicate submission, or data fabrication will result in rejection.
7. PEER REVIEW POLICY
JPES follows a single-blinded peer review process:
- Each manuscript undergoes initial editorial screening.
- At least two independent reviewers evaluate suitable manuscripts.
- Statistical review is sought where required.
- The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations.
8. PUBLICATION CHARGES
JPES currently does not charge any submission or publication fees.
All accepted articles are published open access and freely available online.
9. COPYRIGHT and LICENSING
Authors retain copyright and grant JPES the right to publish and distribute their work.
All content is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license — permitting sharing and adaptation with proper attribution for non-commercial use.
10. SUBMISSION CHECKLIST
Before submitting, ensure that you have:
- Read and followed the Author Guidelines
- Included all required files (Cover Letter, Letter of under-taking, Title Page, Manuscript, etc.)
- Cited references in Vancouver style
- Checked for spelling, grammar, and formatting errors
- Verified IRB/Ethical approval and Conflict of Interest statements
- Confirmed manuscript similarity index ≤ 20%
11. INDEXING and ABSTRACTING
The Journal of Pakistan Endocrine Society (JPES) is currently not indexed or abstracted in any international database.
However, the journal is in the process of applying for inclusion in recognized indexing and abstracting services to enhance its visibility and accessibility.
JPES is committed to maintaining high editorial and ethical standards in line with ICMJE and COPE guidelines, and aims to achieve indexing in major databases in the near future.
